Our story of Samgae Tang

Sam Gae Tang is a Korean hot chicken soup, deemed the best “boyang” dish, which means replenishing or recharging. Boyang dishes are packed with nutrition, intended to help restore your body’s strength and vitality. Sam Gae Tang is especially popular during the summer months because people often lose their stamina and grow tired of the heat. People have Sam Gae Tang to reinvigorate their appetite and to regain their fitness in order to withstand against summer’s heat. Ingredients such as ginseng, jujube, and mountain herbs, which get stuffed into the chicken with rice before getting boiled, all have nourishing properties and are often used as medicinal herbs to heal people. We recommend first having a taste of the broth. The Sam Gae Tang broth is extremely rich and deep in flavor thanks to the hours of boiling the chicken with onions, garlic, some more herbs, pepper, and scallions. It’s truly one of the most delicious and creamiest broths ever. You’ll feel your entire body settle in. Then, dig into the meat. Whether you prefer white or dark meat, that’s your choice. Make sure though that you don’t forget about the stuffing. Take it out of the chicken using a spoon and mix it in with the broth. It almost becomes like a porridge. Also, feel free to enjoy it with kimchi. The nuttiness and creaminess of the chicken and broth go amazingly well with kimchi that has a tangy sour spiciness.
